After competing as a Miss Aloha Hula soloist, I wanted something that would remind me of my accomplishments in the hula world. The first thing that came to mind was a Hawaiian heirloom bracelet. So my dad helped me research jewelers around us and he so happened to come across Mileka Lincoln’s instagram post where she had posted a photo of her beautiful bracelet made by Hawai’i’s Heritage Jewelers.
It definitely looked unique and that is what I wanted; something that no one else had. So we had contacting one of the owners, Tyra, and she was able to schedule an appointment to meet me at my own home. There, she was able to show me pictures of other projects she took on. She even brought a bunch of different samples that I could try on to see what size and weight I liked the most. It was honestly so hard to come to a decision because all of her designs were amazing.
But once we figured out all the details, she began the process. For all the customizations I made to my bracelet, it was worth the price. Once the materials came in, she always made sure she updated my family and I. She would post sneak peeks on the Instagram page which only made me that much more excited for it to be finished. When my bracelet was finished, Tyra met up with me to deliver it. I remember her telling me that that is her favorite part of the process... being able to hand deliver everything so she can see the smiles on the customer’s faces. And I was definitely more than happy. Her father created my dream bracelet and she helped make it possible and I am forever grateful for them.
